Lana Del Rey: Radiohead Denies Filing Copyright Infringement Suit Against Singer

Published: Thursday 11th Jan 2018 by Rashad

Is Lana Del Rey a liar?  Somebody over at Radiohead‘s camp seems to think so.

As we reported here, the Grammy-nominated songstress took to Twitter and even to the stage to slam the legendary rockers for suing her due to claims her song ‘Get Free’ (found on her latest chart-topping album ‘Lust for Life’) contained elements of their signature hit, ‘Creep.’  Fans of the group may know they were also sued for copyright infringement for the same song when 70’s rockers The Hollies claimed ‘Creep’ contained similar chord progressions as one of their hits.

The twist to all the hoop-la?  Reps for Radiohead say they’ve not sued Lana…yet.  Get the details inside:

We reported two days ago that Lana took to Twitter to confirm for fans that she was being taken to court by Radiohead:

Now, the group’s team is clapping back on their behalf:

As Radiohead’s music publisher, it’s true that we’ve been in discussions since August of last year with Lana Del Rey’s representatives. It’s clear that the verses of “Get Free” use musical elements found in the verses of “Creep” and we’ve requested that this be acknowledged in favour of all writers of “Creep.” To set the record straight, no lawsuit has been issued and Radiohead have not said they “will only accept 100%” of the publishing of “Get Free.” [source]

Del Rey, reportedly sick with the flu as of time reported, has not responded to the claims above.
