An apt title given the countless superstars featured in the Ryan Coogler flick. Indeed, its cast includes Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o and Angela Bassett.

Per the announcement, this collaboration represents the first time in Marvel history that Marvel Studios will integrate multiple original recordings created specifically for the film.

Additionally, this will serve as the first time Lamar will write, produce, perform and curate for a major motion picture. He will collaborate with Coogler (who hand-picked him) to  deliver on the film’s sonic needs.

Speaking on the venture, Lamar said in a statement:

“Marvel Studios’ Black Panther is amazing, from its cast to its director. The magnitude of this film showcases a great marriage of art and culture. I’m truly honored to contribute my knowledge of producing sound and writing music alongside Ryan and Marvel’s vision.”

Coogler added:

“I am honored to be working with such an incredible artist whose work has been so inspirational, and whose artistic themes align with those we explore in the film. I can’t wait for the world to hear what Kendrick and TDE have in store”

This is unprecedented! Such an amazing coup for all involved.

The alignment is spot on given the all Afro-American cast and Lamar’s commitment celebrating Black culture.

Lookout for ‘Black Panther’ when it hits theaters worldwide next month. And keep it locked on That Grape Juice for more on it accompanying album.
