Justin Timberlake teams with Country star Chris Stapleton in the video for ‘Say Something’ – the latest taste of new album ‘Man of The Woods.’
Due February 2nd (just two days before he takes to the stage at the Super Bowl), the LP serves as JT’s fourth and is tipped for big things commercially.
Initial singles ‘Filthy’ and ‘Supplies’ were both released to a mixed response. Can this switch things around?
Watch the visual below and let us know!
Better…but blah.
From a production standpoint, this boasts an anthemic sound that packs enough umph to fill up a stadium. Melodically, it’s easily the most catchy of Timberlake’s recent offerings too.
However, when all of its facets are lined up together, it just sounds like noise. And not necessarily bad noise. But noise all the same. It’s as if there’s a strong melody and hook living in there somewhere, however it feels lost in the volume.
Same with the lyrics, it’s not immediately clear what he’s singing about. Although, in the era of mumble rap, it’s not as if the latter will make-or-break the song’s chances on the charts.
We’re at number three of four planned pre-release tracks and we’re still wondering where this “next level, game changing” heat Pharrell and Timbaland promised. Because right now the only temperature we’re feeling is lukewarm.
Whatever I’m getting cheese fries ??♀️??♀️??♀️??♀️??♀️??♀️??♀️??♀️??♀️
This is the best offering from his album so far. This is a great song to go riding on a sunny day to!
Meh.
Sis is finished.
lmao ?
Justin’s Man of the Woods era reeks everything of Katy Perry’s Witness era. They are trying too hard to sound “different” and “aware” musically, but their outputs appear existential and insincere.
And one more thing, the song’s message is terrible, yet very Timberlake.
Although his first two singles were lukewarm, he may have something with this..
It actually fits in with the “Man of the Woods” theme he’s going for.
Ok, he looks terrible lol…and it feels like a long interlude, not a song…he makes 1 minute songs that just go on and on…his songs go nowhere at all
the BEST amongst these first three releases! I’m surprised I’m saying this, but the SAY SOMETHING record stands out from FILTHY & SUPPLIES in a pleasantly good way!
This video is going to flop cause sexxxy left lol ? And it ain’t coming back!
lmfao bye gurl lmaooo.
The song is actually better than I thought, my favorite so far, at this point, haters will hate everything he puts out, this track is fire, I love the way the song is built, the video is meh though.
Or maybe they are not haters and people with an opinion and know what they like.
This for me as well as the other songs do nothing for me, this is the best out of all of them but it doesn’t actually go anywhere and sounds like background noise with a chorus that you would hear and sing along to but forget as soon as it stopped.
People are disappointed because the expectation from Justin is better and this doesn’t work
The word “hater” is used in the wrong context too many times
You can state your opinion about the music without attacking him on a personal level, they criticize the way he looks and call him evil, yeah, that’s hate, and what’s even worse is the fact that they call him talentless, one thing you can’t deny about this guy is that he is very talented, in many aspects, he’s not only a good entertainer but also a good musician, the hate is ridiculous IMO.
Talent like art is subjective and thats for an individual to decide. I have seen you mention artists that you like and then get into it with people about artists that you don’t, its just a matter of taste.
Yes, the jibes about him could been seen as unnecessary but it seems all thats being said is that he is looking old, and if you were being honest he is.
I agree personal attacks are not ok. I always talk about Rihanna or Britney Spears lack of talent but I never say anything about the. In fact they seem pretty cool. However you talked very dirty and personal about Lady Gaga when it was in fashion to blast her. Now you understand why it is not fair, don´t you?
It’s all about chris stapletons voice I didn’t know who he was but he made the song
Love it
Say something, im giving up on you…..
Lol I just posted the same
The trouble with JT is that he used to give us something to look at (precision choreography, attractive appearance) and something to listen to (great tracks, melodies, tight production values).
Today – he ain’t Dancing and the music is wack. What’s left? ?
Say something I’m giving up on you…
oh wait wrong song
Lol right!!
I actually like this one and I see radio playing this nowadays. Similar to how they play Ed Sheeran songs for example. The sound is too different from the other songs though, it feels like he doesn´t know what direction he wants. It´s good to change from era to era but when you do an era, you better keep it together and somehow cohesive.
He’s gone full redneck
Your face went full fast food though.
And yours went full k** shot!!!!
He’s not serving much this era.. I’m actually concerned! He might be head appropriator, and executive Culture Vulture, but I don’t think he should be struggling to find his musical footing like this. Especially because he’s got all the necessary pieces for a successful rollout. It’s weird.
Wishy washy old individual.. hope he gets a residency in Las Vegas. Old man too stupid to realise Bruno MARS took his spot
Doesn’t seem to have anything other than a chorus. Might be good if there were some real words to go with it.
Somewhat repetitive but I love the melody of it. I’ll definitely be humming along!
This song will slay.
This will at least get him invited to the CMA’s like Daddy’s Lessons did for Beyonce. Problem is that it’s wrapped up in a s**t project which neither country folks or his traditional fans will likely support.
.yawn.
Yeah, still slaying BISH.
