Tinashe‘s new album may be called ‘Joyride,’ but the journey to its release has been more of a bumpy ride.
Indeed, the set was first announced almost three years ago and even spurned a like-titled tour. And yet it was plagued by one push-back after the other when its various “lead” singles struggled to ignite the charts.
And while one would assume that the eventual establishment of a release date would have the 24-year-old hungry to deliver commercially, she’s saying that’s not her priority.

When a Twitter user branded the project a “flop,” Tinashe replied by saying that she doesn’t care and stressing that she makes music for the love of it and her fans:

Understandable response, but was it entirely upfront?
The reality is that after all this hoopla, it’s almost a necessity for the campaign to have at least one successful face (i.e. a hit single, stable sales, or something of that ilk) to make it a win. Just saying.
