Toni Braxton is earning praise aplenty for new album ‘Sex & Cigarettes,’ but like the seasoned veteran she is, she isn’t letting that halt her promotional hustle.
The R&B legend recently jetted to the UK and chopped it up with Ace on BBC 1Xtra.
There, the 50-year-old opened about the LP, her upcoming marriage to Birdman, touring, and finding the balance between preserving privacy, maintaining mystery, and living her life publicly.
A great interview awaits after the jump…
Toni always gives good talk and this was no different.
We continue to have her current single ‘Long As I Live’ and the album holistically on repeat and are elated to hear a tour is being mounted in support of both.
And to think this titan of talent was considering retirement just a few years ago.
Regardless of where the sales end up, returning with music that sits alongside her best is a win in itself.
The 50 year old is married to Birdman yet no age for him posted, ,,,,,, and a lot of blogs do that to the. Female celebrities but they never mention the male’s age
Agreed, it’s unnecessarily sexist. Toni is fine wine, mentioning her age all the time is irrelevant.
I agree. They do the same thing to Janet too.
Well if she likes it I’ll deal with it!! ?
Surprised that I LOVE this CD…. Long as I live is hot. My Heart is just the perfect mid-tempo ballad. Deadwood is a bop. GOOD JOB TONI. please don’t retire…….
Birdman though? I feel like this is a money thing…
It may we’ll be.., that said, Toni has married for love in the past and look where it got her. I’m not mad that she wants to be looked after for a change and spent on for a change. She could do a million times better than Birdman but if she needs to secure the bag in her favour then so be it.
Toni has her own money! There are a lot of cute guys with money Toni could have married, but she chose Brian because he cares for her and can deal with her sickness. Cute don’t cut it they are going to walk away during hard times. Toni know Brian for over 18 years…
You go girl!!!!!!!! Love you, do you.
I hope to see a deluxe version of S&C with more upbeat songs. I have a feeling that some of the best jams were left off. How much money did they really save capping it off at 8 tracks?
