Is Christina Aguilera on the cusp of ending her six year hiatus? According to a new report, not only is the answer “yes,” the ‘Dirrty’ diva is readying a return in a mere matter of weeks.
Details below…
Citing a source close to camp Xtina, US Weekly confirms that a May comeback has been set for the songbird who has been hard at work a new album.
The set, which will serve as her first since 2012’s ‘Lotus,’ is said to be “mostly Pop with some R&B” and is believed to feature contributions from the likes of Anderson.Paak, Janelle Monae, and Drake’s righthand man Noah ’40’ Shebib. A collaboration with Demi Lovato is as good as confirmed too.
Excitingly, the star – who has been promo shy in recent years – is reportedly planning a major media splash upon her return.
Per US, Xtina is “in talks with the Billboard Music Awards to make her first big appearance in years. She’s also in negotiations for multiple radio summer shows, like Wango Tango. Her team is in full-on planning mode.”

The promotional aspect of the news excites us the most. ‘Lotus,’ while not as holistically strong as her strongest work, suffered due a lack of push. It had several single options, but at the time Xtina was super-glued to her chair on The Voice and seemed the definition of unbothered.
Given the length of time taken to cook up her upcoming LP, it’s only logical that she goes all-out.
We’re all sorts of ready. Fingers crossed she delivers.
