With the support of the industry power player Sarah Stennett and the Urban tastemakers who backed her material during her formative years, Iggy Azalea is finding it hard to hold on to the support of the general public.
How she is dealing with this reality? Openly and honestly.
Her thoughts and feelings on the state of her career below…
I love all 60 of you too. https://t.co/nk287TRLtJ

The rapper sought to console fans who were crushed when they learned that her new single ‘Savior‘ was failing to fly commercially by revealing that her inability to chart stems from the issues she has with several industry figures.
I’ve told you 500 thousand times, I’m black balled from the industry and so I can’t do a lot of the shit you want happening. That’s not within anyone’s control, I ask – I get told NO. I’ve told y’all a million times.
Though her ousting from industry circles doesn’t explain why the general public, who are still purchasing ‘Fancy’ by the thousands’, aren’t interested in her new songs it does explain why they are yet to receive support from the playlists many of her peers use to break their jams.
Don’t feel bad about that playlisting is potitical. Other than just streaming there’s not much to be done there it’s very corporate and internally structured.
Because she talks to much!!! Let your music talk for you….
Can someone explain what she mean that she’s black balled? Who black balled her? That’s honestly not her problem…she’s still receiving very high budget material and videos. The problem here is the general public isn’t feeling her anymore. This happens to a lot her new artist. They have massive success with 1 or 2 singles but music buying public looses interest. A very few select of artist Test the times of actually seeing a success sophomore era.
No Azealia Banks is some that was black balled for obvious reason. She doesn’t get budgets or backend from corporate….Iggy does.
Sidenote: I can so see Cardi B going down this same route. After the catchy “hit right now” singles fade and people really start seeing your talent or lack thereof, what will you do? Just a thought.
AMEN!!!!!!! The entitlement this b**** feel is beyond me. She still has high budget videos but will talk about being black balled! NO ONE gives a s*** anymore that’s just it and she refuses to accept it.
Card I B
Is next for this meltdown in 18months
I think stefflon don is the next after Cardi B as coach K will push her down everyones throats n she actually has talent which is great!!!
But im waiting on the next purely black female singing superstar ala rihanna or beyonce
Amara la negra has potential not sure if she is youtfull enough but i suspect within the next 18months someone will break through who sings !!!
Normani has the potentiol to do it
I pray this never happens to Cardi!
A lot of people are struggling.
Look at Jessie J who had massive success and didn’t get all that bad attention and controversies.
Leona Lewis, JHud, Kelly Clarkson, the list goes on and on.
Even big names like Alicia, Mariah… struggled with their latest releases.
Some that came out 5 years ago are starting to face similar issues… Nicki, Ariana, it’s gonna be tough for their next releases.
Iggy made a fool of herself with all those controversies. But if she isn’t getting support then I wonder who gives her nice budgets for her videos.
Basically they spend minimum money on her and hope the song will take off on its own. But she’s up to the 4th one now, and obviously it ain’t working.
Her tunes are catchy tho.
Same goes for Katy Perry… but she’s making coins touring at least.
Even Taylor after the lead single was pretty much non existent on radio. But she sold loads and her tours are doing great as well.
Iggy… besides her studio releases has nothing going on…
She’s in the same position than Azealia Banks is for these last past years. These girls need to be independant so they will be able to do whatever they want and have full control on their projects. And I never said it was easy BUT when it comes to a point where you litterally can’t do your job (especially when it’s an artistic one) you have to find a way and do something and I think that move is what they need. I love both of them so I can only wish good things for the future.
I actually like her music & I purchased “Savior” it’s a bop!!
