Jay-Z got all sorts of candid on his critically acclaimed ‘4:44’ album.
And while much of the media discourse centered on his relationship with Beyonce, the titan also seized the project’s hyper-frank tone to open up about his mother Gloria Carter coming out as a lesbian.
Case in point the song ‘Smile,’ which also features Momma Hov herself.
Now in a new interview with David Letterman on his new Netflix series (‘My Next Guest Needs No Introduction’), the media mogul elaborates on the matter.
His words below…
Jay says he cried when his mom confided in him that she had found love; stressing that, while he knew of her orientation, they (and mother and son) only spoke about it eight months ago.
