A new documentary built to honour the life of Whitney Houston is to explore reports that the late star was raped by Dionne Wawrick‘s sister.
A distressing report below…
Named ‘Whitney’, the documentary premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and aims to offer a fans fresh insight into Houston’s life as a child, adult, mother and icon.
Unfortunately, the project is said to have uncovered claims that much of the singer’s unhappiness was rooted in the abuse she suffered at the hands of the now deceased singer Dee Dee Warwick.
The biggest bombshell comes near the end, as director Kevin Macdonald digs into whether Houston may have been carrying around childhood trauma that affected the course of her troubled life. The early years were not easy ones for Houston, since her mother, the singer Cissy Houston, was often touring on the road and would leave Houston and her siblings with other families when she was away. Houston’s brother Gary tells Macdonald that during those frequent stays, a female family member molested him from the ages of seven to nine.
Dee Dee was 18 years older than Houston.
Dionne is yet to respond.
