The accolades and honors just keep piling on Kendrick Lamar.
The 30-year-old rap superstar is still very much enjoying the success of his latest multi-platinum album, ‘Damn,’ over a year after its release. Just two months after becoming the first rapper in history to win a Pulitzer prize for the content found aboard the chart-topping LP, Lamar learned this week he’s entered history books for another feat.
Thanks to a handsome combination of sales, radio play, and streaming, the project has becoming the first in history (by a solo artist) to see every one of its songs be certified platinum.

…of May 25, all 14 tracks on DAMN. have been certified Platinum, recognizing 1 million equivalent song units earned in the U.S.
One equivalent song unit, as recognized by the RIAA, is equal to: one digital song sale, or 150 on-demand audio and/or video streams. The RIAA revamped its Gold & Platinum Awards Program on Feb. 1, 2016, growing from a pure sales certification process to one that includes tracks and streams.

Congratz are certainly due to Lamar for the stellar project. While the only other act to achieve the feat of seeing every song on one album certified by the RIAA is Twenty One Pilots (click here to read more on that), the ‘Humble’ hitmaker is the first solo artist and rapper to accomplish the feat.
