Nashville, home of the National Museum of African American Music, played host yet again to the “Celebration of Legends Gala” recently – an event designed to honor the accomplishments of some of entertainment’s most enduring African American achievers.
Presenting each honoree with a special tribute performance and a Rhapsody & Rhythm Award, this year’s recipients included legendary producer/singer/songwriter Nile Rodgers, reality TV maven Mona Scott Young, legendary singer/songwriter Charlie Wilson, Grammy-winning blues musician Keb Mo, and Grammy-winning gospel songstress Yolanda Adams. In regard to the latter, fellow powerhouse vocalist Tamia was on hand to lend a stunning tribute.
