Estelle back and ‘Better.’
The Brit songstress has spent much of the last few years adding to her acting resumé, with high-profile appearances on ‘Empire’ and a lead role on Cartoon Network’s ‘Steven Universe.’
Still, the star – who now resides in the US – has music as her main focus and is pressing ahead with the release of new album ‘Lover’s Rock.’ Due to arrive later this year, the project boasts production from the likes of Jerry Wonda, Supa Dups, and Harmony Samuels who helmed the set’s lead offering.
Take a listen to ‘Better’ below…
A sensual slow jam, the track packs ample replay value with its mature bedroom agenda.
After a spell away from the musical spotlight, she has our attention with this…does she have yours?
Meh
She combined Anita’s No One In The World, Mary’s I Can Love You and Dru Hill’s Tell Me (of course) with Drake’s style and wordplay lol
Did she forget that Sade already has an iconic album called “Lovers Rock?”
But Lovers Rock was and still is a genre of Jamaican music before Sade’s album, if her album is Jamaican musically based, maybe thats why she chose it as a title
In addition to my comment above, Mary J would’ve sounded better singing this to even Teyana Taylor or Rihanna.
Just Anyone! It’s a shame
The song is dope, but her vocals are a mess.
As always! I could really hear this song being the biz if Jasmine Sullivan, Fantasia or a few others other than Estelle sang it. I kinda feel the same way about the Mary J song. Good song but not for her vocals
She sounds good and why would she be compared to Sade, they don’t sound alike IMO…
What a terrible song!
Black women make better music when they are trying to cater to the white market
Please explain *Oprah voice* lol….you opened up an interesting conversation
I hear a little of Mary’s I Can Love You in the chorus…anybody else hear that? And she’s been listening to Drake too
song is dope, if a new artist came out with this it could really work…. likeif ella mai dropped this or even ray blk it would be nice.
I love it…by the way this isn’t new territory for her she’s always dabble with Jamaican music since her debut!
