Kanye West‘s attempts to “make America great again” aren’t going too great if the ongoing backlash to his recent Twitter comments are to judge by.
Less than a day after leaving fans scratching their heads over his bizarre ‘SNL’ performance with Lil Pump (and the pro-Trump rant that followed another of the night’s performances), West – opting not to give an update on his highly anticipated ‘Yandhi‘ album – instead took to Instagram to share that his vision for “making America great again” included less outsourcing of jobs to other countries and…umm…abolishing the 13th amendment.
To clarify is the 13th amendment is the one that outlawed slavery and involuntary servitude. Needless to say, people weren’t too happy with his proclamation:
Much like his “slavery was a choice” comment, the backlash led West to backtrack on his statement and offer clarification.
It was too little, too late.
