Lady Gaga beamed as the belle of the ball at the world premiere of ‘A Star Is Born.’
Staged at the 75th Venice Film Festival, the spectacle began before the first scene even aired – for Mother Monster served all sorts of drama with her pink feathered ensemble.
And even then, there was more theatrics to come.
For, about one hour into the flick, lightening struck and caused a 15-minute technical glitch.
Nonetheless, critics in attendance are raving in almost complete unison – with many touting the film’s Oscar prospects, both in acting and musical categories.

Can’t wait for her to win her Oscar!!
She doing her thing on all fronts. She was destined to shine in quality fields. Not just basic pop charts.
That said the film is probably very good for its type but I doubt it gets any serious recognition outside musical categories at the Golden Globes and not much more. People have seen this a million times. The films being rewrded nowadays are way more daring and innovative and artistic.
It depends, as along with innovative film making there is always award attention lavished on those boring biopic type films such as the Churchill and Iron Lady movies. Films that are generally unremarkable except for a riveting central performance. I imagine this will be similarly regarded.
I don´t think it will go that far either. But the awesome reception is enough.

The re-make Beyondewl was rumored to star in had nothing to with this version. That one was going to be done by Clint eastwood. But thank god they didn’t go trough with it.

Gaga already has a Golden Globe and sure she is comming for the Oscar. That’s why she is next to Britney in “princess of Pop” title (even if Britney has 10% of her talent, but we respect the legacy).

Unlike a lot of people in the industry Gaga is actually really talented. She can sing, write, and play her own music. We rarely see that. That is why I love me some Tori Kelly because she is actually a TALENTED musician.
Glad Gaga got to play too role, she can actually act unlike Beyonce.
Beyoncé & Gaga both have two different upbringings before making big in the entertainment business. You can not compare their acting careers. First, Gaga went to a performing art school and crafted her acting career. We all know acting just fail into Beyoncé lap, so you can’t compare them. Btw Beyoncé step up her acting in Cadillac records. So let them both be two different entertainers and stop comparing.

I like Gaga a lot but feel like this hype is similar to what Madonna got during the Evita era and although that was her finest performances Hollywood never accepted Madonna the actress…I don’t see them doing that for Gaga either. I think both of them are good in roles that are a variation of themselves.
Cher, Janet, Diana Ross, Streisand are the only singers I think are also very good actresses
Im interested to see what this is going to do. Of the women who rose to prominence in the aughts, Gaga is the only one (outside of Jennifer Hudson) whose prospect of an actual acting career is of interest. Hopefully this film is the first of many good things from Stefani…
I don’t think their referencing lady GaGA to win an Oscar. I believe they’re referencing Bradley cooper. I’m sorry but GaGa acting is good, but not to win an Oscar.
Lady Gaga should be given credit for handling her almost impossible bouts of pain due to her Fibromyalgia. She is a REAL trooper!
