Kanye West has been unapologetic about his controversial alliances. Case in point his friendship and endorsement of the US’ polarizing president Donald Trump.
However, it seems the rapper now wants out of the political sphere.
Details below…
In a stream of tweets, Kanye – who has been vocal about his allegiance to the Make America Great Again movement – denounced politics and stressed that he had been used to propagate beliefs he didn’t align with.
The catalyst for his annoyance appears to be the uber-conservative Candace Owens and her push for Blexit (black exit from Democratic Party).
Yeezy explained:
“I introduced Candace to the person who made the logo and they didn’t want their name on it so she used mine. I never wanted any association with Blexit. I have nothing to do with it.”
Prior to now, Owens had said:
“Blexit [black exit from Democratic Party] is a renaissance and I’m blessed to say that this logo, these colors, were created by my dear friend and fellow superhero — Kanye West.”
Here’s Kanye’s full commentary…
It’s worth highlighting that in the time since the tweets, West has made clear to TMZ that – despite inferences from many – he hasn’t explicitly denounced Donald Trump in his divorce from politics.
Although, several have noted that his comments about asylum seem at direct odds with some of Trump’s policies. Figures?

Once has to wonder whether it’s a case of “too little, too late.” After all, so much (arguably too much) of Kanye’s antics are emblazoned into public consciousness.
Then there’s the question of whether his behavior has all been one elaborate trolling session. He does, when you think about it, have an album (‘YANDHI’) dropping on November 23rd.
