Cheryl made her grand return to ‘The X Factor’ stage tonight for the premiere TV performance of new single ‘Love Made Me Do It.’
With the song receiving a polarizing response upon its debut and much of the discourse surrounding her return being focussed on her “new” look, the the star was tasked with offering up a showing that firmly turned the tide in her favour.
Did she deliver? Watch below to find out…
Cheryl needed to stage an almost biblical miracle in turning this water wet song into a fine wine – and sadly she was unequipped.
Indeed, despite bringing spectacle and respectable choreography, all the embellishments were visual. The song desperately needed padding for its live outing (see: added production), but instead it was pancake flat musically and even flatter vocally. How can a prerecord sound so bad?
It’ll be interesting to see what becomes of the song commercially. Thus far it’s peaked at #19, is doing “decently” on the stream scene, and will benefit from ample promo in the weeks to come. Its fate is hard to call, but we can’t help but feel that too much is being wasted on a song that defines subpar.
Flatter than a witches T I T
It was okay on mute…. just okay.
If Cher Lloyd could’ve pulled off that 8 count and had the same promo for her song she would been much more successful.
Out of all the vocally challenged singers, Cheryl has to be the worst.
She looked amazing and delivered. The queen is back!
She was doing way too much for this song. I agree with TGJ this song SUCKS but her performance was great. Unfortunately, it was overkill for this song.
She cant sing and her dancing is robotic. She’s only having success because she’s the ‘’nations sweetheart’’
