‘Empress’: Ray BLK Reaches 30 Million Streams Milestone

Published: Tuesday 6th Nov 2018 by David

The Nigerian singer/songwriter Ray BLK has much to celebrate this year.

Good news below…

Ray’s debut set ‘Empress’ set sail towards the charts on October 26th powered by its launch single ‘Run Run‘, a rising fan base and an endorsement from Elton John.

Since then, the set and other Ray-related content have flown north of the 30 million mark across all streaming platforms thanks to the piqued interests of the general public.

The lion’s share of her epic streaming gains can be found on Spotify where her single ‘My Hood’ has been played 9.9 million times to date and where she has garnered 1.3 million listeners a month.

The rest of her numbers rise from seeds planted on TIDAL, Apple Music and YouTube.

Why do you think  Ray is faring so well?

You’re saying who when she’s been streamed 30 million times. Not her fault you have poor taste. Congrats queen. Seeing this has inspired me to make the kind of music I want to make and not follow trends.
