2018 continues to pour out Billboard blessings for Young Money rapper Drake.
Having dominated both the Hot 100 and the Billboard 200 for most of the year (breaking and setting a number of records along the way), the 32-year-old’s still learning of new chart and career milestones.
The year may be nearing its end but that Drizzy reign doesn’t seem to be ending any time soon. See what we mean inside:
‘God’s Plan,’ the lead single from the Grammy winner’s fifth studio album, ‘Scorpion,’ debuted atop the Hot 100 at the top of the year. Since then, thanks to massive streaming figures and digital downloads, the song has reached diamond status.
The song’s producer, Boi1da, took to social media to share the news:
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certifies a recording as having reached “diamond” status if it meets combined sales and/or streams of 10 million equivalent units (with every 1,500 streams = 1 sale).
‘God’s Plan’ takes its place among an elusive list of tunes that have been granted the prestige of 10x platinum (or more). See the full list below [according to Forbes]:

A lot of this music is getting rewarded because the companies paying for the foolishness is predictable!!??♂️
Streaming is really helping a lot these artists today because many of them would not see the success they are having right now if the industry still depended on actual sales and numbers.
That list is basically the playlist that’s playing in hell all day
I agree. Illuminati is real yall.
TROLLmine what number hair did you wear for thanksgiving, Cûnt?
I agree wholeheartedly. What a horrible list of music…
Im tired of Drakeesha
you drag people for not selling as they used to, you drag people for not selling at all, and you drag people for selling, and you also drag people for selling too much, what the fck is your problem. you and others across social media are like this yall can’t be pleased, so annoying.
@-,
I think the reason people “drag” so much is that list is just full of junk-food music (as exhibited by the song list in the article). I’m not saying that Drake produces that (arguably), but I think people want to celebrate something that is successful AND substantive – at least once in a while. Carly Jepsen, Macklemore, Katy Perry? They are the musical equivalent of cotton-candy and no one would say that’s a meal…
The prime example of an artist lacking star quality, it doesn’t matter how many months he tops the charts, he is very disposable.
All about that bass is diamond??? LMAO Half of that list is crap. We all know songs like I will always love you are bigger than most of these. Katy perry really fell fast lol as asingles queen should. Lady Gaga on the other hand has seen all types of success in her 10 years in mainstream. Her pop singles were huge. And since then she has tried so many different things and with success.
