2018 continues to pour out Billboard blessings for Young Money rapper Drake.
Having dominated both the Hot 100 and the Billboard 200 for most of the year (breaking and setting a number of records along the way), the 32-year-old’s still learning of new chart and career milestones.
The year may be nearing its end but that Drizzy reign doesn’t seem to be ending any time soon. See what we mean inside:
‘God’s Plan,’ the lead single from the Grammy winner’s fifth studio album, ‘Scorpion,’ debuted atop the Hot 100 at the top of the year. Since then, thanks to massive streaming figures and digital downloads, the song has reached diamond status.
The song’s producer, Boi1da, took to social media to share the news:
The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certifies a recording as having reached “diamond” status if it meets combined sales and/or streams of 10 million equivalent units (with every 1,500 streams = 1 sale).
‘God’s Plan’ takes its place among an elusive list of tunes that have been granted the prestige of 10x platinum (or more). See the full list below [according to Forbes]:
