Brit-Pop darling Cheryl is pounding the promotional pavement in support of new single ‘Love Made Me Do It.’
Serving as the star’s first release in four years, the track has been met with a polarizing response from the public and to date has only peaked at #19.
Hoping to turn the tide in her favour, the singer and her troop of dancers took to the stage on The Graham Norton Show to perform the cut.
Find out how she did after the jump…
Try as she may, it’s just not possible to sell the song as anything other than terrible.
It’s as if the bigger the bells, whistles, and choreographed embellishments, the more obvious it becomes that the track isn’t deserving of any of it.
As in this interview, Cheryl consistently keeps referencing how streaming has changed the game and how she’s consequently had to alter her tried and true approach.
If indeed the case, she ought to brush this mess under a carpet and move onto the next song pronto. The era of force feeding music on a six week plus promo schedule is very much a thing of the past. So, if she doesn’t want to become that herself, she needs to let this DOA single go.
This new song is original for sure, that’s the only positive thing I could tell about it. But there is no commercial expectations for me, it ain’t going to work.
She looks more normal now. Im not supporting the body shaming she had for plastic intervention but I guess she learned a lesson.
