Meek Mill Questions Travis Scott’s Super Bowl Decision

Published: Thursday 20th Dec 2018 by David

Meek Mill wants to know why Travis Scott has signed up to support Maroon 5 at the Super Bowl.

Full story below…

A number of musicians have refused to touch the Halftime stage to support Colin Kaepernick after he was blackballed by the National Football League for protesting against anti-black racism.

Today, after the world learned that Cardi B had joined that number, fans of the Hip-Hop showman Travis Scott were stunned to discover that he had signed up to replace her.

Meek couldn’t believe what he was hearing.

Meek believes Scott should stand in solidarity with Kaepernick and shun the Super Bowl to send a message to its organisers.

He isn’t alone. Take a look at some of the remarks Scott has received since news of his performance plan hit the net.

Do you agree?

And I completely agree. Don’t anyone else thinks it’s funny how the giants (Grammys, Super Bowl) love to treat black entertainers unfairly but then they turn right around and need our help for their ratings and numbers.

NO, let Marion 5 put on their show on their own. It’s gonna be horrible just like the white boy last year.

Your thought is old as slavery days. No disrespect to you, but black Americans are the economy. But, I do feel people shouldn’t be mad at Travis Scott for taking a big opportunity for himself. What about all of black football, baseball and especially basketball players. What would Americans do without LeBron, Carmelo, Russell Wilson, cam newton, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Irving, CC Sabathia, Mookie, Matt Kemp and many more black Athletes who Dominate sports?? If are black Athletes boycott their sport would be a good beginning. That goes for are black ESPN host as well. What will they do without Shaquille O’Neal, Charles Barkley and other Athletes who Transition into sports anchor position? Last, are musician can stop promoting white America products and also for the actor and actress. We have the power.. right now where the reason why Fendi making a come back. Black America is the economy.. We have the power of changing things without violence!

With Travis. Without Travis. Doesn’t matter. It’s gonna be terrible. This half time show was doomed from the beginning for so many reasons. But like his baby mama and her family of professional leeches, the attention was irresistible.

I think the best point was made in the tweet “what did you expect when his baby mama is a Kardashian?” That sums it all up….

The real question is WHY NOT?

  7. Bam December 20, 2018

Kapernick didn’t even vote so he betrayed himself. I’m tired of this idea that all black people have to think the same and be the same with only slight variations from the “norm” allowed.

    • Whoops ????‍♀️? December 20, 2018

You don’t have to participate in every protest that goes on, HOWEVER, the disappointment you’ll get from black people for not is more than understandable and usually, deserved. By not participating, You can undermine the entire protest. Protests require cooperation to be effective.

Now. Enough of Travis, the Non Factor. As for this idea you’re tired of…

Black people do not have to think and be the same. There’s a difference between groupthink and solidarity. It’s not about being the same, it’s about unity. And unfortunately, there are black public figures that have a platform big enough and an influence strong enough to move the entire community forward or take it backwards. And because of that simple fact, all the other black people have to hold them accountable.

Look at Kanye as an example. Whether you want to accept it or not, PARTICULARLY if you’re gonna speak on behalf of a specific group and position yourself as an activist or advocate for them (like Koonye does), you have a responsibility to work in harmony with the common interests of that social group. He doesn’t. As a public figure with a big mouth, the opinions and actions you throw out there like “slavery was a choice”, isn’t just some meaningless harmless opinion that doesn’t negatively affect anybody. There are consequences. Consequences that Kanye didn’t have to suffer because he’s a rich, white, trophy wife. All of this to say, You really got to think bigger if you really believe that black people just get mad simply because other black people don’t agree with them ??. They’re mad because they believe these people are ACTIVELY working against them. Moving them backwards. Undoing the work that millions of other black people (that don’t have that big platform) put in place. Now, The world is not gonna stop revolving because of Kanye, I’m just saying that some people don’t take too kindly to you getting on national television and spewing offensive nonsense that insults their experience, compromises their activism, and calling it free thought….

Aiight. Thanks for coming to my TED Talk. Peace. ✌?
