From his rendition of Michael Jackson‘s ‘Dirty Diana,’ Ella Mai‘s ‘Trip’ and Soul For Real‘s ‘Candy Rain’ to recently butchering adding his personal touch to Donny Hathaway‘s time-honored holiday cut, ‘This Christmas,’ self-proclaimed ‘R&B King’ Jacquees has earned quite the reputation for his many covers – a royal pain to a number of R&B music lovers.
And, because not even the Wheel of Fortune has gifted its contestants the numbers of vowels he characteristically includes in said remixes, the 24-year-old’s Christmas 2018 was interrupted with news that there is a petition to stop him from assaulting listeners adding his incessant eee’s to some of the genre’s most beloved tunes.
Details inside:
Taking to Change.org, a concerned music lover started a petition to ensure Jacquees – born Rodriquez Jacquees Broadnax – is no longer able to add his spin to any song he did not create. Created just 4 days ago with a goal of 10,000 signatures, the order has garnered a whopping 11,500 signatures (as of time reported).
Ouch! That number was increased after fans got wind of his version of Chris Brown‘s ‘This Christmas’ (which can be seen above). Poor Jacquees.
