The rapper was imprisoned earlier this month for the part he is said to have played in a number of heinous crimes linked to his affiliation with a New York-based gang.

Alas, his efforts to distance himself from criminality by claiming he was “pretending to be a gangster” were met with laughter from the court which denied him bail and flung him into his prison’s general population.

Today, sources at the facility say he has been having a rough time because he- upon arrival- was confronted by members of a rival gang who- enraged by child rape case- “G-checked” him.

The Crip told Tekashi he better understand who’s in charge — and the only thing that saved him from a beatdown was the fact prison staffers quickly intervened.

His attorney, Lance Lazzaro, says 6ix9ine “was being threatened in jail. However, he was not scared nor did he request being removed. The [Bureau of Prisons], acting upon these threats, removed him to a different facility to eliminate the threat.”

Why?

According to Page Six, yhe District Attorney’s belief that is in the public’s interest that he be forced to register as a sex offender, and because his plea agreement stipulated that he stay out of legal trouble for at least two years.

His trial is set for September 4th 2019.
