Against the backdrop of blazing production, the songbird salutes her hubby for taking her son as his own and declares that it’s them against the world.
Even more exciting for fans is that the song’s arrival came packaged with its music video.

While sonically cut from the same cloth as the likes of ‘Body Party’ and ‘Promise,’ the song skews much more personal lyrically and stands out as such. Kudos to Ci for serving up the familiar while pairing it with a fresh perspective.

I think this would sound way better if she sang it in a lower octave, because that tone and her delivery doesn’t suit the production, like it should be slower and more sultry. But it could grow on me maybe. I’m rooting for her and I know negative comments will follow but we cannot deny her legacy, she came in this game full force and she continues to do her thing.

Exactly! Ciara can’t get it together . Very LACKLUSTER. Not saying it’s horrible it’s lackluster. Her tone is not working on this it sounds almost pitchy ON the record . No dance scene in the video ? Ciara atleast gives us what you’re known for like wow . I am disappointed yet again. Sigh

Something sounds off with the song structure. It’s like one long interlude with no discernable verse and chorus. How did this make it out of the studio?
Can the haters hear themselves? Rap singing and Trap has killed the R&B vocal and replaced it on the mainstream. This is not the 90’s or 2000’s – the charts and GP are not looking for a hardcore R&B vocal for it to ‘Catch On’. This is one of CiCi’s two lanes: sensual mid tempo ballad or high octane. Let her live ✋?I preferred I Bet – but she seems authentic in this Lane and I ain’t mad at her for tellin’ it.

HEr tone is still too high & empty sounding. She never was a powerhouse singer, but her earlier music voice had more depth & soul. Song is average @ best smh come on cici!!
