Ciara is off to a flying start with new single ‘Thinkin Bout You.’
The funky cut is the lead-in release for the singer’s seventh studio album ‘Beauty Marks,’ which arrives via her like titled label on May 10th.
Thus far, the project has been previewed by way of songs such as ‘Level Up,’ ‘Dose,’ and ‘Greatest Love.’
Notably, though, none of the aforementioned received a radio push and seemed designed to drum up online buzz.
However, with ‘Thinkin,’ it seems Team CiCi are going full throttle and are yielding great results out of the gate.

Happy for this. She and her label better not slack on the promo for this song now that it seems to be sticking. Level Up could’ve been an even bigger hit than it was. It just shows that when CiCi does what she does best, make happy positive energy type music, the public will respond if she does what she needs to do to push her work!
She’s independent now. Apparently, Warner didn’t believe in Level Up so cici was able to open her own imprint so she has full control. In addition she has her own Masters.
She just signed a deal with ADA that basically allows indecent artists airplay on the radio. I believe this deal was finalized after level Up came out.

She’s still signed with WB, WB isn’t a main lable, they distrubute smaller labels or artist own labels. She basically have a deal like Rihanna and Aaliyah back in the day. Ciara never fulfilled a record contract, so I don’t think she owns the masters of those old hits, it depends if she was actually released or dropped. But she did co-wrote those songs, so she have the publishing, but I bet Jazzy Pha still owns those hits from Goodies cause they were on his label Sho Nuff.
So was level up released when she was independent or when she was major .
She does own her masters! Why not look it up before making a complete fool out of yourself stating something you don’t know dummy. Google is you best friend.
@Echo – Nope! She doesn’t. That was a RUMOR and the rumor ALSO WAS that Russell BOUGHT her masters FOR HER for her birthday or as an anniversary gift of some sort. NONE OF IT IS TRUE.

Yup. All of her previous labels held her back. Jive dropped the ball with fantasy ride, they also made her fund Basic Instint with her own money. Epic records was onto something with “Ciara” but she got pregnant and decided to stop promoting the project. Remember overdose was announced as a single. And even got a little airplay then it was canceled. And she basically marketed Jackie on her own too.
Ciara has always been a force, it’s just her team never put in the same effort.

This song is f*cking awesome! (I wasn’t so much feeling the other tracks from the album but “thinkin bout you” more than makes up for that)
It’ll be incredible if she’s able to secure a mainstream hit after going INDIE!! I’m not holding my breath but I’d love for this song to smash at top 40 radio!
