Normani and Sam Smith continue to wrack up the accolades with dynamite duet ‘Dancing With A Stranger.’
Details on its huge milestone below…
Today saw the track, which first arrived in January, hit #1 on Billboard‘s all-format Radio Chart.
The hypnotic cut pulled off the feat by amassing a 102.9 million audience on US airwaves.
It’s Normani first track to receive the honor and Smith’s second (‘Stay With Me’ preceding).
Furthermore, ‘Dancing’ is only the fifth co-billed #1 between a male and female soloist since the Radio Songs tally launched in 1990 – before either act was born.
The latter sees it join an elite list populated by: Bruno Mars and Cardi B‘s ‘Finesse’ (2018); Jay-Z and Alicia Keys‘ ‘Empire State of Mind’ (2009); Usher and Keys’ ‘My Boo’ (2004); and Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle‘s ‘Aladdin’ smash ‘A Whole New World’ (1993).

Huge congrats to Normani and Sam, who’ve amazingly achieved this without a live performance of the track to date.
Sure, we’re still licking our wounds over their scrapped BBMAs showing (see: Sam’s illness), but the song’s rousing success has to make this a surefire contender for Grammys and all sorts honors this year. All of which would be oh so deserved.
Normani! Like Allen Iverson she IS:
“The Answer” ! ?
