Megan Thee Stallion aka the ‘H-Town Hottie’ landed in hot water recently when investigative Twitter users exposed resurfaced tweets of hers from 2012 that featured homophobic content.
Granted, the rapstress was only teenager at the time of the initial posting, but that did not stop some commenters from slamming her for using derogatory language including the slur “f*ggot.’
Fed up with the ongoing chatter, Meg took to Twitter today to clap back at detractors for bringing up the nearly 7-year-old infraction. See what she said inside:

I am NOT defending what this young lady said 7 years ago via social media. However, I will say this…
Within the black community, and especially for those raised in urban, inner city, predominately minority areas, slang & hateful slurs are used so commonly that to the children/teens, the terms seem common.
Even I did not realize that terms like “Tr*nny” were derogatory until my early twenties. I knew that “F*ggot” sounded horrible, but had no idea just how inflammatory it was until starting college & taking more classes in race, gender, sexual|ty & sociology.
A lot of terminology is learned. We are living in a day and time where EVERYONE & EVERYTHING is so incredibly hypersensitive.
Cis gendered men & women from the black community really are JUST LEARNING to not use “D*KE” in describing a same gender loving woman or to not even say “F*G” playfully.
It’s easy for us to believe that EVERYONE SHOULD KNOW BETTER, but when growing up in environments where no one uses alternative words or descriptions, this language does feel acceptable. it’s only as we enter the world at large that we begin to LEARN these verbal tags are a stem of ignorance, intolerance & hate.
The girl is learning. Give her a break.
Stop making excuses. If it was a white person using the N word back in 2012, u wouldn’t be making such silly excuses.
I am a lot more intelligent than you are & a lot more well versed in the psychology of the young, black mind. Meg The Stallion is NOT a white person & therefore, her background is a lot more rigid. The statements were not made from a fully developed perspective.
