Plans to create a reality tv show lie at the heart of Rihanna‘s legal fight with her father Ron.
Full story below…
Rihanna filed a lawsuit against her father reluctantly after she discovered that he may have been using her name to generate cash and opportunities for himself without her permission.
Keen to quash any confusion this may cause, the performer- who donates generously to a number of charities- filed the suit to stop his efforts to trademark the ‘Fenty’ name because doing so would lead her fans to believe she endorsed or supported the projects he planned to launch with it.
One of these was a reality tv series.
Now, he asked the legal system to dismiss the case because he believes Rihanna shouldn’t be allowed to have sole ownership of the ‘Fenty’ name, and says that he was using it to do business long before she did to create the series he hoped would turn him into a star.
He claims that he launched Fenty Entertainment (which RiRi has problems with) to develop a reality show and to promote Ronald Fenty’s “career, business activities, personal branding, and name recognition in the entertainment industry and as a celebrity.”
