Fans still hot on Megan Thee Stallion‘s ‘Fever’ mixtape are not seeking a cure if the enduring success of the tunes aboard the project are to judge by. Case in point? The DaBaby-assisted cut ‘Cash Sh*t.’
Coming as the first top 40 hit of her career, ‘Cash’ – despite the absence of an official music video – has been given five star treatment on the promotional front. Gifted live performances on ‘Tonight Show with Jimmy Kimmel’ as well as this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, BET Hip Hop Awards, and more, the visibility has helped the Lil Ju-produced cut maintain buoyancy on the Billboard Hot 100.
Now, thanks to more handsome streaming, airplay, and digital download figures added to its overall stats, the song marks a personal milestone for Megan as the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) reveals it’s become the first Platinum hit of her career.
Note: “Platinum” certification denotes sales equivalence of one million units “sold” in the United States through streaming or traditional consumption.
As we extend our congratulations, look inside to see the top 25 and find out where ‘Cash’ landed on this week’s edition of ‘TGJ Chart Check.’
So it went platinum without ever reaching the top 30? Wow. Props to Megan! ?
Off a mixtape ?
Only platinum ?
It just came out this summer what’s not clicking
And she wasn’t even on a major label
I don’t appreciate how nobody’s talking about how freaking pretty she is.

???? I can’t be fck with! H** you can’t touch this!!! ?♀️?♀️?♀️
I love how authentic her rise is. No force feeding her to the masses. No campaign “FoR ThE culture” and no Payola! I live for this girl’s talent.
She isn’t any more or less talented than the other rap girls. She raps about the same crap in the same tired tenor/bass flow.
Congratz to her.
