In life and after, Whitney Houston and Notorious B.I.G left an indelible mark on music and culture.
It’s fitting, then that the pair are two of the notable names nominated for induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame class of 2020.

In an announcement made moments ago, it was revealed that the following are in contention for entry into the coveted Hall. In alphabetical order:
Pat Benatar, Dave Matthews Band, Depeche Mode, The Doobie Brothers, Whitney Houston, Judas Priest, Kraftwerk, MC5, Motörhead, Nine Inch Nails, The Notorious B.I.G., Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, Todd Rundgren, Soundgarden, T.Rex and Thin Lizzy.
Remarkably, it’s Houston’s first nomination, but it’s second for Biggie (who was nominated during his first year of eligibility). Also making the ballot multiple times is Chaka Khan. Could it be their lucky year collectively?
The official announcement will be made in January, after votes from industry folk are tallied. [A fan vote opens later today] Thereafter, the R&R Hall Of Fame 2020 Induction Ceremony will take place at Cleveland’s Public Auditorium on May 2nd. It’ll mark the first time the show is broadcast live on HBO.
Those inducted will join a legendary list of past inductees, which includes Michael Jackson, Madonna, The Beatles, and just this year Janet Jackson.
Who are you rooting for?
