For, it’s been announced that they’ve officially made the cut for the Class of 2020.

The pair will enter alongside Depeche Mode, the Doobie Brothers, Nine Inch Nails, and T. Rex.
Notably both Houston and Biggie are first-time nominees – getting in on their first consideration.
The R&R Hall Of Fame 2020 Induction Ceremony will take place at Cleveland’s Public Auditorium on May 2nd. It’ll mark the first time the show is broadcast live on HBO.
Houston, Biggie, and co join a legendary list of past inductees, which includes Michael Jackson, Madonna, The Beatles, and last year Janet Jackson.
Congrats! It’s much deserved.

I’m not too familiar with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Does it accept any genre? I can kind of see how Michael and Janet were inducted but I can’t quite understand the Whitney correlation. Happy regardless, I just don’t understand the qualifications.
Respectfully, how do you not understand how Whitney deserves to be nominated? She is one of (if not THE) greatest vocalists of all time, has countless hits, is a cultural icon, etc. She MORE than deserves this honor.

rock and roll is an umbrella term.. so called purists have an issue with non rock classified artists being inducted but rock in the form they refer to died in the mid 90s… hip hop (the denominating music genre) will take it over in 20 years or so
