The live music industry may be on track to a multi-billion dollar loss thanks to the number of event cancellations and postponements forced by the coronavirus pandemic, but that certainly hasn’t stopped entertainers from finding inventive ways to keep their content in the public’s line of vision.
While a number of artists have taken to their respective social media platforms to gift fans free live virtual concerts (see: John Legend, Anthony Hamilton, Erykah Badu, H.E.R., etc.), now the outlets themselves are hosting livestream musical sessions.

On Monday (March 23), TikTok announced a five-day music and entertainment livestreaming series entitled ‘Happy at Home: Live!.’ Listing Alicia Keys, DJ Khaled, Megan Thee Stallion, Jason Derulo, and Meghan Trainor among the hitmakers to feature, TikTok – known mostly for its 15- to 60-second videos – will not enforce a time limit on its participants for the digital event.
Beyond the music, the week will broken into four separate days: “Motivation Monday,” “Kick Back Tuesday,” “Show & Tell Wednesday,” and “EduTok Thursday.” TikTok creators like Tyra Banks, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Dr. Phil, and more are scheduled to appear.
