Is quarantining driving people to revisit the golden jams of yesteryear?
It would seem so as just a day after Mariah Carey‘s ‘E=MC²’ topped iTunes sales charts over a decade after its release (as we reported here), Janet Jackson‘s breakthrough LP – ‘Control’ – has broken into the tally’s top 5.
It may have taken a while, but the ‘Let’s Wait Awhile’-housing project has been given another wind.

Jackson’s third album, ‘Control,’ may have celebrated its 34th anniversary on February 4, but on April 29 the singer’s fans – affectionately called the #JanFam – are celebrating the opus going on sale for $4.99.
As a result of the discount, the groundbreaking effort has hopped into the top 5 of iTunes’ sales tally and bests some of the sales of current popular albums like that of Fiona Apple‘s and more.
Its ascent started April 28 but, at the rate it is rising, could potentially see it top the sales chart. See below:

Jackson took to Twitter to thank fans for the support, increasing sales as a result.

If the momentum continue, next week’s Billboard 200 could see a revisit from ‘Control’ and ‘E=MC²’ – two albums that topped the tally in their respective release years.
