New Song: JoJo – ‘Lonely Hearts’

Published: Friday 24th Apr 2020 by Sam

JoJo is strutting on full steam to the release of her fourth studio album ‘good to know,’ which arrives on May 1st.

Ahead of its landing, the singer has unwrapped ‘Lonely Hearts’ as the latest taste of the project.

A scintillating slow jam, the track also packs plenty of knock.

The promo track’s premiere follows the release lead single ‘Man.’

Take a listen below…

As ardent lovers of JoJo cuts such as ‘Demonstrate’ and ‘Edibles,’ this is a sonic treat. Kudos.

The production of the songs we’ve heard thus far are not as ‘big’ as the production on ‘mad love.’ But still, low key R&b cuts like this work for her. That’s the gift of being a true vocalist, you can make anything sound good.

      I agree

    • Armadillo April 25, 2020

Was summer Walker production “big” ? This is better than her

Love her and her talent. Unfortunately, this round none of the songs thus far have clicked with me. I guess, maybe it will be an album to listen to in its entirety.

Comparing Vocals and Production – these new songs LACK the song writing, vocal arrangement, and power of Get Out Leave, Little too late, Reckless or even the beautiful and under-rated Thinking Out Loud.

And this makes me believe that she is even more involved in the creative choices and is possibly writing these songs herself. Her independence is showing and the lack of a big machine is evident.

Alas, Tamar’s ex is broke now.

      Alas, LeShawn Daniels died.

      Alas, Jojo is culture-vulturin’.

      Ergo this hot mess, alas.

Im new to JoJo so her older hits don’t have the resonance for me that they do for others. I like what Im hearing now, though. Actually I like this cut better than “Man”…

    • PinotNoir April 24, 2020

      Really? Man’s my jam. ?

3 week U.S. totals for recent pop girl releases

    Halsey: 338K
    Selena: 176K
    Camila: 146k
    Dua: 134k

Dua will be passing Camicky soon ?. Slow & Steady wins the race.

    • PinotNoir April 24, 2020

      Halsey? U go, gurl!

IDK WTF y’all talking about in these comments. This is the JoJo we’ve been waiting for. You can tell she’s not chasing no big pop hit, she’s in her bag doing what her voice should’ve been done, give us quality R&B.

  9. James April 24, 2020

Can’t wait to hear the full album. This is the JoJo I like. Mad love was a great album.

  10. eric April 24, 2020

This is the best song I’ve heard from the new album and it reminds me of the old JoJo. I just wish they had taken out some of the noise in the production, because it covers up her vocal a little in the chorus. When you have a voice like JoJo’s, you can let it carry the song.

the lyrics are good but it’s not as striking on first listen as Man or Sabotage. it’s only a week til we get the album, can’t wait

    This ish sounds old.
