As families all over the world have been asked to stay at home to stop the spread of COVID-19, a number of people now find themselves unable to escape the abuse work, school and social gatherings would usually save them from.
So, after learning that at least 90 people are being turned away from Los Angeles’ domestic violent shelters each week, she teamed up with Twitter exec Jack Dorsey to send $4.2 million to the Mayor’s Fund.
Why? To ensure the shelters, and the services they offer to the vulnerable, remain open….freeing them from the financial ties which may bind them to the foul and cowardly beasts they live with.
