While stars the world over are banding together in aid of the coronavirus relief effort, Sam Smith has revealed they had actually suffered from Covid-19.
The singer, who is hot on the virtual promo trail for new single ‘I’m Ready (ft. Demi Lovato)’, shared the news with Zane Lowe during an interview on Apple’s Beats 1 radio.
Their words after the jump…
Smith explained:
“I know I have it, 100 per cent have it.
I’m just going to assume that I did because everything I’ve read completely pointed to that.
So yeah, I think I definitely had it. And then as soon as I had it, my sister five days after me started getting the same symptoms who’s living with me.”
The chart-topper, who came out as non-binary identifying last year, added that they and their sister went into a three-week self-isolation and are now fine. They continued:
“It was clear. because I’ve got an older nan and stuff, so we didn’t want to risk anything.
This was about two weeks before the UK was really hit.
I think I got it, I don’t 100 per cent know, but I got it and then as everyone was kind of really on lockdown, that’s when I got over it, luckily.”
We wish them the best.
