April 11 marks the long-awaited premiere of Lifetime’s ‘The First Ladies Of Gospel: The Clark Sisters.’
Starring Emmy-nominated actress Aunjanue Ellis as their mother (“Mattie”), Christina Bell (“Twinkie”), Kierra Sheard (“Karen”), Sheléa Frazier (“Dorinda”), Raven Goodwin (“Denise”), and Angela Birchett (“Jacky”), the biopic – produced by Missy Elliott, Mary J. Blige, and Queen Latifah – has been on the radar of Gospel enthusiasts since its early 2019 announcement.
A unique feature of ‘First Ladies’ is the musical inclination of its main actresses, who joined forces to re-record some of the Sisters’ greatest hits for inclusion in the film. As excitement for its unveiling reaches its apex, the network has unleashed the movie’s official accompanying soundtrack.
