In a series of Instagram Stories published six hours ago, Azealia revealed that she feels hurt by the music industry’s sudden willingness to combat anti-blackness after condemning her for doing so circa 2014.
In one of the Stories she explained that one of the celebrities she is most hurt by is Lily Allen. For, she claims that during a telephone conversation which took place after their feud, Allen admitted that she believed she would win the spat in the court of public opinion because she was white and Azealia was black.
Y’all told me I was too vocal about police violence in 2014 and now here y’all are corroborating everything I said. You have caused me a great deal of mental and emotional damage.
On Lily:
When I was in high school I loved Lily Allen. I’d wear the door knockers and vintage dresses so maybe like a year ago she called me and said ‘I really want to apologise for being racist to you because I thought was this white girl who could **** on you because you were a black girl.
She added…
I was like ‘Girl…are you really on my phone telling me that you thought could **** on me because I was a black girl?’.
The ‘Luxury‘ singer/rapper also explained that she once received a text message from Doja Cat reprimanding her for misbehaving publicly by feuding with Cupcakke.
A cheeky and audacious move, as far as Azealia sees it, because she later discovered that Cat was an active member of an alleged white supremacist message board around the same time.
