Britney is at a place in her career where her days as a hit maker are behind her just like X-tina. She’s not like a Madonna/Janet/Mariah that have released some very mature and adult oriented music in their 40s or a Bey/P!nk that started around the same time and still contemporary. She might still have some draw as a touring artist however it seems her mental health is not the greatest these days and her in stage performances have been fairly lackluster. I don’t think a move to a new label would make any difference. She’s never expanded her fan base beyond millennials where a Madonna/Mariah were able to be multiple gen artists appealing to Gen X, Millennials and beyond. Don’t cite Mood Ring at #1 on iTunes for a day as a reflection of her career or appeal. That just proves the die hard fans still support her but casual listeners have moved on to Ari, Riri, Taylor and Gaga as the “IT” pop girls.
If I were she, I’d press play on my Greatest Hits album, and sway on stage for a world tour or four.
