June 12 brought with it the highly anticipated release of Chloe x Halle‘s sophomore album, ‘Ungodly Hour.’
Powered to chart competition by its bopping lead singles, ‘Do It’ (their highest charting song to date) and ‘Forgive Me,’ the sister set not only upped the ante on the visual front with increased sex appeal and choreography to boot but also delivered their most radio-friendly offerings yet.
Amplifying awareness of the LP’s arrival with an aggressive promo campaign that saw them touch down on television, Web, print, and more (as we reported here), the campaigning seemed to be doing the trick as ‘Ungodly Hour’ shot straight to the top of real-time sales tallies.
Now, with the inaugural tracking week behind them, Chloe x Halle can celebrate earning their best first week sales to date.
Chloe x Halle’s ‘Ungodly Hour’
First Week Sales (SPS): 25,000
First Week Sales (Pure): 5,600
First Week Billboard 200 Chart Placement: #16
The top 20 premiere not only comes as the highest Billboard 200 placement of the duo’s career to date, but also as the week’s top debut (among all new albums). Their first LP, 2018’s ‘The Kids Are Alright,’ peaked at #139 on the same tally.

They are so boring
Glad you think you so. They’re not mad for the mainstream basic ichtes.
so why you listen garbaj this time?
Not going to lie, I did expect better numbers and chart placement, however, these girls have nothing to prove!
Album is amazing and on repeat. They are truly talented – no one can argue with that! This is just the beginning
I expected better too. The album is amazing though and shows tremendous growth. Their first real step into making more adult music. They just need that one defining hit, because the talent is there and they proved they can be more than than cutesy cover artists. So you’re right, this is just the beginning for them. Once things get back to normal and they can do proper promo tours, award shows, etc. and their other projects in film, they’ll be good.
All things considered they did everything PERFECTLY despite the Flop… i think they would have performed much better if that Album Cover wasnt so hideously lame. The music is definitely good thi.. They wtote and produced Tipsy and Wonder all by themselves.
It should be higher as it is a really good Album. And actually I expected better positions and numbers. I hope they won’t get dropped cause this album was one of the best recent rnb releases
Sucks, hope more people catch on..The album is so good
Their music sucks
next album they will be so big
They’re gaining ground in the music biz. Halle’s Little Mermaid movie will help put their names out there!
never paid them much attention but my roomie kept playing their album last week and I like it! Chloe sounds a bit like a polished Dinah Jane
The black community once again letting another talented black artist(s) flop.
So yall rather stan and hype mediocre normani than support these girls, who have artistry, can sing and write bops also
U see the problem with the black community.
Paying talented black artistes dust.
Chloe and halle are singing alternative rnb and they can venture into pop gradually, the same way Taylor swift was doing country music but ventured into pop gradually.
Do it is the song of the summer.
Beyonce needs to push this song on pop radio now.
This album is really really good… I hope this don’t detour them to turn to being gimmicks.. music is not where the money is right now.. I’m glad they got into acting…
