Mariah Carey claims contracting COVID-19 could be a career-ending illness for her.

The Songbird Supreme alleges, in new legal documents obtained by The Blast, that she cannot appear to provide a deposition in the ongoing battle with her former assistant, Lianna Shakhnazarian, due to the risk of the singer getting the coronavirus.
The documents state:
“Unique to Mariah, however, is the potential career-ending impact of any lung damage. If Mariah’s lungs are damaged, she will no longer be able to record music or perform and thus lose her ability to earn an income.”
The ‘Always Be My Baby’ singer is asking that she not be required to be in the same room as anyone until the risk of contracting the coronavirus is reduced.
As for a remote meeting, the documents suggest that it is still too big of a risk.
The documents say:
“Even a remote deposition poses a significant risk to Mariah’s (and her counsel’s) health and safety. Carey should not be forced to sit for a deposition that would pose a significant threat to her health and career. Mariah would seek to exercise her right to have her counsel present in-person to prepare for, and defend, her deposition. She would also need a technology team to set set-up the remote deposition and troubleshoot and glitches.”
In other words, according to Mimi, the amount of people exposed for even a remote meeting would be too much.
