2019 wasn’t exactly the best year for Ja Rule.
In addition to becoming the brunt of criticism for his involvement in the 2017 Fyre Festival (which was revisited by wildly popular tell-all documentaries last year on Hulu and Netflix respectively), he was royally ridiculed for a performance at a Milwaukee Bucks game that was riddled with technical difficulties (click here to watch).
Having survived the roasting, we’re pretty sure the rapper (born Jeffrey Atkins) was none-too-pleased when sports network ESPN randomly rehashed the incident on social media Sunday (July 26).
Once word of their commentary reached his desk, Atkins took to Twitter to lend a lengthy clap back. See the action inside:
Never forget this Ja Rule moment 😂 pic.twitter.com/exqr24Dhbg

After the above was posted, Atkins hit back with:
🥴 An “icon” wouldn’t have been attached to the fyre festival. How about that.
A has been
Normani in the next 5 years.
Crowmila in one year*
I guess being an icon doesn’t mean anymore what it used to be…
JaFool needs to sit his clown a*** down.

icons dont have their careers shut down by losers like 50 cent. icons do not encourage waypipo to go party in the caribbean, trash everything and steal from Black Carib business owners and hard laborers. nothing iconic about this ni66a except for the level of whoop ass he deserves from the entirety of our black community. f_ck ja rule
No matter what you think of the man, ESPN’s post was dumb and unprofessional as Ja Rule said. That’s some TMZ stuff.
