Much like her ‘WAP’ co-star Cardi B (as we reported here), Megan Thee Stallion went live on social media ahead of the arrival of the tune’s accompanying music video to ramp up excitement.
While on the platform, she fielded fan questions – some of which (as expected) veered toward the topic of her health as she recuperates from surgery after suffering bullet wounds to her feet. Reliving the horrific incident, Stallion (born Megan Pete) recalled the emotional aftermath:
“I feel like this is a thing that I see every single day and I see so many women, and I see so many men talking shit about this,” said Meg. “I felt, like, really crazy. I felt like, why did I get shot? Like, what did I do? It was insane. The shit was crazy and I feel like some people think that it’s funny and some people think that it’s a joke, and I feel like some people are saying it to get to me.”
Elsewhere in the conversation, she reflected on the lack of support from her closest friends:
“It’s not fun, b*tch,” she stated. “I don’t understand. I just felt very betrayed by a friend. I felt very betrayed by all my friends. I felt very shocked, very scared.”
That’s not all she said. Look inside for more:
In addition to reflecting on the shooting and the creation of the ‘WAP’ video, Pete also responded to rumors she was beefing with Nicki Minaj.
Fans of Minaj (affectionately called #Barbz) know the diva and Cardi have been locked in a longtime feud. Upon the announcement of Meg’s collab with Cardi, some assumed she was ‘switching sides’ as the tune’s delivery comes just a year after the Houston Hottie joined forces with Nicki for their hit, ‘Hot Girl Summer.’
At the 3:40 mark in the video above, Meg cleared up any confusion about the status of her relationship with Harajuku Barbie.
‘Are me and Nicki still cool? Duh! The f*ck? Why would we not be cool?’
