Having topped the tally last week with ‘Dynamite,’ the seven-piece group have extended their stay thanks to colossal numbers.
Proving that their historical touchdown a week prior (when they became the first Korean act to top the US charts) was no fluke, the band amassed the following in their second week:
- 17.5 million U.S. streams
- 182,000 downloads sold
- 16 million radio airplay audience impressions
The download figure is especially notable, as ‘Dynamite’ becomes the first song in almost 4 years to have sold 180,000 in consecutive weeks.
As for how BTS pulled it off?
‘Dynamite’ benefited from new ‘Poolside’ and ‘Tropical’ remixes – both of which were sale-priced at 69 cents. Collectively, they added to the original, EDM, acoustic, and instrumental versions. All of which were also priced at 69 cents.
Suffice to say, with the potency of merchandise bundles lessened in light of recent Billboard rule changes, artist teams are finding new avenues to rack up sales.
Congrats.
