Fresh off the success from the #Verzuz battle between herself and Monica, Brandy, aka the ‘vocal bible‘, sat down with Ebro and Rosenberg at Hot 97 to discuss a range of topics.
A candid B-Rocka opened up about ‘The Boy is Mine‘ beginnings, resolving issues with Monica, social media and her long awaited eighth album, ‘B7.’
Watch interview below…
With many still assuming the “beef” with Monica is still alive, it’s great to see B-Rocka put it all to rest.
As reported, over 6 million viewers tuning in to their iconic #Verzuz battle, so it’s refreshing to see the vocal powerhouse still garnering the recognition she deserves so far into her career. She’s an act that ought to be celebrated and with ‘B7’ generating great reviews from critics and fans alike, it’s clear that Brandy isn’t going anywhere.
Gurl bye! Ms only flop aka WAP, fancy bish, tyty, and yo 1000+ other troll accounts. u r the real trolls!!! U jealous coz I’m always the first one. 😂🤣😂 I always come first! Be gone u stupid ashy bish
This lost soul never found her own sounds. Thanks to darkchild & Timbaland. She just a random high school choir girl without them. No wonder B7 flopped so hard

Beautiful!!! I’m loving the space this LEGEND is in!!! B7 is fire and #1 on R&B iTunes Charts a week later. Love this girl and her beautiful music ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Meanwhile Monica’s albums are nowhere to be found while she out in a jail call room on a dirty ass pay phone phone s*xing a bum ass criminal. 🤣🤣 the jokes write themselves.
Great interview! She has come such a long way as a human being. I remember those early days when she was on Thea but didn’t you pay much attention until “I Wanna Be Down” which EVERYBODY in my school was singing. “Best Friend” was me and my bestie’s ( RIP, girl) song but even then I couldn’t call myself a fan. Moesha didn’t air in my city so I never built that connection. But I do remember “Sitting Up In My Room” was the first single I ever purchased but I still wasn’t a fan. I was firmly in the Monica camp even though I liked a fair amount of Branch’s music. Then I saw I Still Know, and being such a horror fan, she kind of blew me away and to me she steals the film. Still wasn’t there to call myself a fan but then a few years later came Afrodisiac and I have been a stan ever since. But Brandy has always been a part of my life. I bought my niece the Brandy Barbie doll just so she could see anything was possible as a little black girl. I was talking about B7 and this white woman interrupted our conversation to talk about how much she loved Cinderella. So when people say Brandy is a legend, I have to agree. The music holds up, and in the end that’s all that matters.
She and Monica gave excellent post-Verzuz interviews. It was annoying though that Ebro kept cutting Brandy off mid-sentence. I love that Brandy included Aaliyah in the conversation (she even showed respect by pronouncing her name correctly). Even though I’m not a total fan of “Baby Mama”, it brought back the energy I remember being present in r&b from Brandy, Monica, Aaliyah, TLC and so many others who defined the 90s. Today, labels keep giving us artists who all sound the same, have no real identity and who rely heavily on showing skin to sell low quality music.
The already feverish excitement for the big screen adaptation of ‘Wicked‘ only seems to be growing ahead of the Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo-led film’s flight into theaters on Friday (November 22).

Brandy and Monica may be celebrated by music lovers as two of modern R&B’s most revered female vocalists, but that reverence hasn’t always been extended from the industry itself: namely the awards show circuit.
To date, the divas have only won one GRAMMY… Read More
