Over 20 years into her stellar career and it still appears 2020 may be Jennifer Lopez‘s best year yet.
As if kicking the year off with a history-making, high octane Super Bowl Halftime Show performance wasn’t enough (which later earned her an EMMY nomination), the singer-actress earned a Golden Globe nod and Oscar buzz for her role in the 2019 film, ‘Hustlers.’
While she left the aforementioned ceremonies empty-handed, the E! People’s Choice Awards are looking to add a new member to her mantel as the triple threat diva has been slated to receive the event’s most prestigious trophy.

“The superstar performer has been selected to receive the People’s Icon award at the upcoming E! People’s Choice Awards.
Per today’s announcement, Lopez is being singled out for her “iconic performances both on stage and on screen,” including the Super Bowl halftime show and in the hit film Hustlers.”
Sharing her elation for bestowing the honor to Lopez, Jen Neal – a rep from E! – took to press to say:
“Jennifer Lopez has an unmatched global appeal and for more than two decades, has given us some of the most iconic, unforgettable performances of all time,” said Neal, General Manager for E! News (live events & lifestyle digital) before saying the 51-year-old “single-handedly [increased] Latinx representation in music, film, television, and fashion.”

Yet she still releases them to millions of streams, still sells strong on tours, earns millions in royalties, has two beautiful children, gets cast in moderately successful films. Heck she’ll still be wealthier than you can ever dream of being. Singing is a scale… not everyone can belt like Adele.

Probably because Jlo is All longevity but without impact or achieving anything groundbreaking in music or film outside of Selena

This woman career is sooooo overrated, she hasn’t had a successful era since 05, hasn’t had a number one song or album in 15 years, she doesn’t have one classic ground breaking album. Most of her biggest hits was stolen from other artist, in the past decade she’s had one top 5 hit with On the floor. Meanwhile she’s already received the icon award from Billboard and People’s Choice, she’s received the vanguard award from MTV and she’s co headlined the super bowl. Good looks and assss shaking takes you a long way in Hollywood.
