As reports rang across the net that Cardi B had filed for divorce from Offset after three years of marriage, the rumor mill immediately assumed it was due to the Migos star having an extramarital affair.
If sources close to the couple are to be believed, the whispers were right.
Those who have followed the two’s romantic journey remember their highly publicized breakup in late 2018, reportedly due to a sextape scandal that proved he was physically involved with other women.
Since their reconciliation in the weeks that followed the incident (which included the ‘Clout’ hitmaker going on a press campaign to publicly admit his wrongs), things seemed to be on the up-and-up – that is, until Tuesday (September 15) when B took to a Georgia courthouse to dissolve the marriage (as we reported here).
Calling the union “irretrievably broken” and asserting “there are no prospects for a reconciliation,” the paperwork -as our friends at PEOPLE report – was signed because Offset was unfaithful again.
As of time reported, the mystery woman (or women) who are allegedly the catalysts for the breakup have not been revealed.
What is for sure, Cardi is seeking primary physical and legal custody of their daughter, Kulture (pictured above).
In additionally, reports have it she is also demanding Offset to pay child support and pay all of her legal expenses related to the proceedings.
Analysts have long suggested the two do not have a prenup, a rumor seemingly confirmed by Cardi’s request for “an equitable division of all marital assets” – an ask he could potentially challenge as she is the family’s primary financial provider.
The pair are set to appear in court November 4.
