Kanye West is taking a page from Akon‘s playbook.
The rapper revealed that he intends to build a smart city-similar to the one Akon is building in Senegal-in Haiti.

He took to Twitter to announce the news on October 27 in a tweet that read:
“Just to be CLEAR: WE ARE IN ENGAGED WITH HAITI’s GOVERNMENT to make a transformational INVESTMENT to bring JOBS, DEVELOPMENT, HELP SUPPORT LOCAL FARMERS and FISHERMEN and Build a new « CITY OF THE FUTURE » in a very beautiful country.”

This is not new to the rapper, as he has been creating full-scale Yeezy cities as part of his farm-to-table plan for a while. So far, he has managed to create compounds in Wyoming and Atlanta. Now it appears as though he is ready to take his operations overseas.
While it may seem futuristic, many have spoken out against it.
