Ari Lennox is making room for yet another plaque from the Recording Industry Association of America.
More details below:
Over a year after its debut, ‘BMO’ – Lennox’s Omen produced smash-hit that heavily samples Galt MacDermot‘s ‘Space’ – has been certified Gold by the RIAA, for sales equivalent of 500,000 units in the United States.
The song served as the fourth single from her acclaimed debut album, ‘Shea Butter Baby.’ It became her second highest charting song on the US R&B chart, where it peaked at #17.
Proving as an undeniable success on the charts, the track continues to increase the excitement for the follow-up to ‘Shea Butter Baby.’
Congratulations are in order for this impressive feat.
Well deserved. Ari is churning out some classic R&B. Shea Butter Baby is an amazing album. One of the best R&B albums released in years. Congrats!!
Song shoulda been way bigger than it was! Loved this song from the moment I heard it and Doja on the remix was fire too!
In the 90s she would have been huge. Current RnB artists need more support.
She would’ve killed the damn late 90’s and even the early 2000’s. This generation is trash that’s why she’s not appropriated.
