Britney Spears wants her dad, Jamie Spears, to be “suspended immediately” as the co-conservator of her estate.
The ‘Make Me’ singer’s attorney, Sam Ingham, filed new documents on November 3, with Spears specifically requesting that the Bessemer Trust Company be the sole conservator of her estate, and that her dad be removed.
More details below:
The Princess of Pop and her lawyer claim that Jamie hired Michael Kane to serve as business manager without her knowledge or consent after her Tristar Sports and Entertainment Group business manager quit.
Documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight read:
“The Oct. 28 letter is a blatant attempt by [Jamie] to retain full functional control of her assets, books and records in the face of Britney’s objections, Tristar’s resignation and the appointment of Bessemer Trust. His simple litigation strategy is to introduce a new gatekeeper who admittedly has a major working relationship with his legal team.”
“Therefore, Britney will be filing a petition to remove James as conservator of the estate.”
Spears first asked that the Bessemer Trust Company serve as the sole conservator of her estate back in August. Her mother, Lynne Spears, supported that decision.
Britney Spears’ conservatorship remains in place until Feb. 1, 2021.
